Introducing Facebook Pages
Posted on November 8, 2007

Have you discovered Facebook Pages yet? Facebook Pages are a cool tool available on Facebook for business to create a profile much like a user profile with many of the same features. Today I began to dive into Facebook pages to create a presence on Facebook for the company I work for. So what did I learn?
Using this Facebook Pages I was able to create a nice looking header/profile image (much larger than the standard profile picture). After doing that I added the company address, web address, hours of operation, and contact information in the area provided. I then uploaded photos, video spots, and even post some questions for user interaction. Very cool stuff!
I also discovered an event section for posting events. When you create an event the event will have it’s own page that contains event information, event profile picture, RSVP feature, a description, a wall, photo area, and more.
To extend your Facebook Page you can also create applications that integrate with the profile box, mini-feed, and news feed.
To get started with you own Facebook Page you’ll need to add the Ads and Pages application. After installing to your profile you’ll have access to the Ads and Pages section. From there you’ll have access to page views, ad campaigns, and the feature I’ve been writing about Facebook Pages. It appears you can create as many individual Page profiles as you like. To setup you’ll be asked if it’s a local business, Brand or Product, or Artist. After making your selection type in your company name then click the “Create Page” button. Now your ready to have fun!
Creating the page is an easy process. If you haven’t done so already setup your page today!
