Have you discovered Facebook Pages yet? Facebook Pages are a cool tool available on Facebook for business to create a profile much like a user profile with many of the same features. Today I began to dive into Facebook pages to create a presence on Facebook for the company I work for. So what did I learn?
Using this Facebook Pages I was able to create a nice looking header/profile image (much larger than the standard profile picture). After doing that I added the company address, web address, hours of operation, and contact information in the area provided. I then uploaded photos, video spots, and even post some questions for user interaction. Very cool stuff!Â
I also discovered an event section for posting events. When you create an event the event will have it’s own page that contains event information, event profile picture, RSVP feature, a description, a wall, photo area, and more.Â
To extend your Facebook Page you can also create applications that integrate with the profile box, mini-feed, and news feed.
To get started with you own Facebook Page you’ll need to add the Ads and Pages application. After installing to your profile you’ll have access to the Ads and Pages section. From there you’ll have access to page views, ad campaigns, and the feature I’ve been writing about Facebook Pages. It appears you can create as many individual Page profiles as you like. To setup you’ll be asked if it’s a local business, Brand or Product, or Artist. After making your selection type in your company name then click the “Create Page” button. Now your ready to have fun!
Creating the page is an easy process. If you haven’t done so already setup your page today!

Social networking sites are among the top buzz words these days. Yet with all the buzz, how do you know which networking site to get started with. Over the past year, I’ve worked with a couple different social networking sites. Recently I began working with my Facebook account. Facebook to me has proven to be a great networking site and a great utility. Facebook is a serious and professional social networking website. If you are just looking into Facebook or getting ready to begin a Facebook account you may want to know some of the features that Facebook will do for you.Â
Connect With People
Of course, with Facebook you can connect with people. Like other social networking sites you can request to be friends with other users. Facebook has a lot of networking groups you can join. There are faith-based networks, school networks, company networks, and much more.Â
Share Photos With Facebook
Did you know Facebook allows it’s users to upload unlimited Photos? Yes that’s correct. With Facebook you can create web albums and upload up to 60 photos in each album. You can tag, comment, and add captions to each photo you upload. Â
The Wall
The Wall is your own mini forum for you and your friends. You and your friends can post messages for others to see. It’s a great place to chat and drop a quick not to your Facebook friends.
Facebook Applications
Facebook has a large collection of applications you can add to your account. There are photo applications, events, reminders, Zoho Office applications, games, and blogging tools to name only a handful. Believe me there are many more applications to pick from. For example, I use a cool Flickr application that pulls in my Flickr photos so my friends can view and click on my photos.Â
Have fun getting started with Facebook. I’d like to hear what you happen to like about Facebook.
