Looking for a place to store your music, photos, and videos? That is what I needed. I picked up the Western Digital My Book 250 GB Hard Drive and it prooved to be just what I needed. I’ve got a large share of digital photos so this will be a welcome to me.
Installation was simple. I simply had to unpack, hook up the power then connect it to my computers USB 2.0 port. That was it. The device doesn’t even come with a disk. Simply plug it in and you are good to go because all the included software loads automatically from the hard drive.
This external hard drive doesn’t take a lot of room and has an elegant case that resembles a book. It measures 5.55 x 2.25 x 6.71 inches. The My Book hard drive stacks horizontally allowing you to stack other My Book drives together.
Also included on the My Book hard drive is free Google software. The software will search your drives to help you manage your photos.
My Book is great for:
- Extra storage space
- A place for storing music, photos, and movies.
- Extra space for your video editing projects.
- And virtually anything you need to store.
Now this is a great looking idea. We are always taking pictures of the kids… hundreds of pictures. After I’m done I usually upload them to one of my favorite online photo websites. Yet there are a few family members that don’t have computers. The HP Printing Mailbox looks like the perfect solution to get those photos to those family members. Presto will allow you to send email, photos, and content to all those folks who don’t have a computer or internet connection.
