Looking for a place to store your music, photos, and videos? That is what I needed. I picked up the Western Digital My Book 250 GB Hard Drive and it prooved to be just what I needed. I’ve got a large share of digital photos so this will be a welcome to me.Â
Installation was simple. I simply had to unpack, hook up the power then connect it to my computers USB 2.0 port. That was it. The device doesn’t even come with a disk. Simply plug it in and you are good to go because all the included software loads automatically from the hard drive.
This external hard drive doesn’t take a lot of room and has an elegant case that resembles a book.  It measures 5.55 x 2.25 x 6.71 inches. The My Book hard drive stacks horizontally allowing you to stack other My Book drives together.
Also included on the My Book hard drive is free Google software. The software will search your drives to help you manage your photos.Â

Being an outdoor enthusiast I thought I’d start a series on outdoor websites. This past year I started my own outdoor recreation website focused on the Florida Gulf Coast called Outdoor Gulf Coast. So you can see my interest in the outdoors and why I wanted to write on outdoor websites. I want to shift from the Gulf Coast to the Mountains of North Carolina for this article. One site I visit from time to time is Ski North Carolina. As the name describes Ski North Carolina focuses on the mountains of North Carolina.
On Ski North Carolina you can get the latest ski conditions, view pictures, road conditions, weather forcasts, live web cams, and a ton more. Often during the winter months I’ll hop onto this site to see the latest conditions. The guys who run this site do a great job keeping you up to date in blog style the latest news and conditions in the area.Â
Ski North Carolina covers Appalachian Ski Mtn., Catalooche Ski area, Hawksnest Resort, Sapphire Valley, Scaly Mountain, Ski Beach Resort, Sugar Mountain, and Wolf Ridge Ski Resort.Â
